Meet the Therapist

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Illinois. Her areas of focus includes providing comprehensive mental health services such as: mental health assessments, individual therapy, and group therapy. I use an eclectic therapeutic approach that emphasizes Cognitive-Behavioral Techniques and Interventions, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Techniques, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, working with individuals and small groups. In addition to working with individuals and groups, I also have a special interest in eliminating the stigma of mental illness through providing education about mental health and wellness to community organizations, religious groups, and small or large special interest groups. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree from Millikin University of Decatur, IL and a Masters degree in the field of Social Work from the University of Missouri at Columbia, MO. My background includes: 21 years in the field of social services  with 14 years of those years in mental health. I also worked  in various settings such as community mental health clinics, juvenile detention centers, jails, prison, substance abuse treatment centers, and HIV/AIDS service organizations.
